The Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh (GOB) will provide fund from revenue
budget towards the cost of consultancy services for Detailed technical Economic
Feasibility study of 3rd Shitalakhya Bridge at Bandar, Narayangonj by engaging Consulting
Firm during the year 2006-2007. It is likely that the kuwait Fund Arab Economic
Development (KFAED) will fund the construction project in future. The Services includes
collecting data, traffic counts, topographic survey, hydraulic study of the rivers,
geo-technical studies and investigation, setting probable bridge locations, preliminary
design, techno economic analysis, navigational aspects, environmental issue resettlement
etc, along with the general requirements for the preparation of a Feasibility study for
KFAED. The Additional Chief Engineer (RHD), Bridge Management wing now invites eligible
firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. The firm must have previous
experience of rendering consultancy services for feasibility study and preliminary
engineering design of at list 1 (one) two lane highway bridge not less than 1000m on
rivers gap within last 10 years. Interested Consulting Firms are requested to provide
information indicating that they are qualified to perform the service. The information
for pre qualifications should be provided on: brochures, description of similar
assignments, experience in similar study, availability of appropriate professionals and
qualifications and experience among staff etc.
The interested firm may associate with another firm to enhance their qualifications in
form of Joint Venture but total number of firms in this association should not be more
than 2 (two). The lead firm must have experience of feasibility study and preliminary
engineering design of at least one two lane Highway bridge not less than 1000m in length
within last 10 (ten) years and the associate firm must have previous experience of
rendering consultancy services of similar nature for any road sector project within last
5 (five) years.
Following PPR-2003, the technical & financial proposal submitted by the short listed firm
will be evaluated for selection of consultant for the services using the Quality and Cost
Based Selection (QCBS) method. Tentative date to commence the service is June 2007.
Expression of Interest will be received by the office of the Additional Chief Engineer
(RHD), Bridge Management Wing and be clearly marked "Request for Expressions of Interest
for short listing Selection of Consulting Firm within 4.00 pm on. 06-03-2007.
The procuring entity reserves the right to accept or reject all proposals without
assigning any reason.
